Don't Call Us, We'll Call yOU.

Three canidates are up for a job. All three have the same degree, and very similar GPA's. As an employer I would compare the canidates to each other to see which is the most deserving. This is a common sense approach, but alas
common sense isn't so common.

Enter the Big XII south. As it has been well documented Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma all finished the season tied for 1st. The tie breaker being the highest BCS standings, which is based on computers and human opinion polls...hence the aforementioned job interview analogy. These teams are all competing for the same job, Big XII South Champion.

Unlike many interviews though, these three canidates all have competed directly against each other, in fact dealing each other their only blemishes on their schedules.

Texas defeats Oklahoma by a score of 45-35 on a neutral field.

Texas loses to Texas Tech 39-33 on the road.

Oklahoma defeats Texas Tech 65-21 at home.

Due to the shear magnitude of Texas Tech's loss, they are essentially elminated from consideration. Also, the victory over Texas came with :01 left to play. This is like seeing a drug felony on an application. Thank you for your time Texas Tech, but we have chosen to go in another direction.

This leaves two canidates, OU and UT. This choice is harder, while UT may have won the head to head match, OU did dominate the one team who defeated UT. OU has also been brown nosing the past four weeks scoring 60+. Two of those games were against vastly inferrior teams.

So, after carefully considering all options, I would have to hire Texas. OU is a very capable team, that I'm sure would do a great job, but Texas has proven that it is better.

Too bad the BCS doesn't consider facts and has two teams that Texas has already beaten playing for the Big XII title. Because of a track record of decisions like this I say "BCS, you're fired!"
